Beacon Literacy Canada sponsors five annual awards for students enrolled in public schools in the Calgary and surrounding areas.
Five Beacon Literacy Canada Achievement Awards may be awarded annually and presented to the student by a Beacon representative at the school’s yearend awards ceremony. Public school teachers may nominate one student for the award per school, per grade. Nominations should be forwarded to the Beacon Literacy Canada Head Office by May 20, 2007 and should include:
- a copy of the nomination form
- a confirmation of grades obtained by the student
- if also applying for a partial or full scholarship on behalf of the student, please complete the scholarship application form.
Students eligible for the award:

Must be registered in a public school in the Calgary or surrounding areas**

Must be between the ages of 8 to 18

Must have regular attendance in school and attend all required courses

Must have an identified learning disability and in spite of it are working to or beyond expectation

Must be a good citizen in the school community

Must have all required documentation submitted to Beacon before deadline
** The surrounding areas include the following: Canmore, Cochrane, Airdrie, Okotoks, High River, Black Diamond, Chestermere and Strathmore.
