Corporate Awards (currently only available in Calgary and surrounding areas)

At Beacon Literacy Canada Inc. we understand the responsibility of being respectful of and to add positively to the communities in which we operate. We pride ourselves on being able to demonstrate that commitment on a yearly basis. Beacon Literacy Canada is truly making a positive significant difference in the lives of individuals who before coming to Beacon struggled with reading even the simplest of text. To that end, we at Beacon have launched a bold initiative to increase our availability to those who may not otherwise be able to access us.

In 2005, Beacon Literacy will launch the Beacon Literacy Canada Achievement Award. This award is unique in its structure and bold in its initiative. All Public Schools in the communities where Beacon operates are eligible to apply for this award. Any Public School teacher can apply for the award on behalf of a student enrolled in their program. Five awards will be given each June. Awards consist of the name of the recipient engraved on the corporate plaque at Beacon’s headquarters, engraved, individual medal and full or partial scholarship to the Beacon Program. Donations

We receive an overwhelming number of requests from worthy charities for corporate donations throughout the year, and it is difficult to choose between them. In order to allow our staff to have an active roll in determining our corporate donation focus for the year, we ask that all requests for donations be in written form accompanied by information on the charity and its funding focus. Once annually, the Beacon administrators and staff will come together and decide which projects they are willing to support for that year.
