"The rough seas are behind us now that we have found our beacon in the storm. Thank-you for all you do, thank-you for all you are, and thank-you most of all for all you have helped our daughter become. Words are not enough...".

TOPIC: Creating Rhythm
#59
Creating Rhythm 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Step 7: Listen to Your Body. Our body always has its own rhythm. FIND IT! Learn how much sleep you need. If you need eight hours make sure you get it. If you need eight but sleep ten that can cause as many problems as only having six.

Find your most productive time during the day. Establish routines at specific times during the day. If you are most productive between the hours of 10 and 2 then utilize that time to work on your most demanding projects.

Step 8: Use Time as an Allie. Set time for tasks. Some tasks such as checking emails can easily turn into time wasters if you allow it to distract you. Some emails have links that take you onto the world wide web and quickly become major distractions and time wasters. How does one begin learning how to discipline oneself when it comes to time on tasks?

Set a timer for 20 minutes and check emails. Once the time has gone by move on to the next 20 minute task. Science has studied efficient use of time and information retention for years.

The latest brain research tells us that the brain learns better and retains more information if working in 15 to 20 minute increments. (Remember that next time you sit down to study!)

Do you have any frustrations with self management? Send us a note and tell us about it.
Please note: although no board code and smiley buttons are shown, they are still usable.
