Parent Council Topics   2006 – 2007 School Year

If your Parent Council is looking for a great, dynamic speaker, former teacher/administrator, Lanni Donaldson, President/CEO of Beacon Literacy Canada, would love to have the opportunity to educate all parents of your school about what can be done to help all struggling students.

Below are three topics that are close to Lanni’s heart.  Each session is about half hour long, however, longer sessions can be provided as well.

  1. “Oops, the Wheels fell off, how did that Happen?

How come my young, bright child is now struggling in school? Remember, “Good students aren’t born, they’re made!”

  1. Parent/Teacher Interviews: Battle of Wills or Teambuilding?

Getting your point across without being offensive; building a stronger and more positive team for your child.

  1. Leadership: how to turn a Sheep into a Wolf….

How to teach your child to survive in this fast paced world?  Do you want them to be a follower or would you like them to turn into leaders?  How can you assist your child towards becoming a leader?

Fees:

Lanni is very generous in donating her speaker’s fee, however, she does charge a flat fee for traveling expenses incurred.

$25.00: City of Calgary
$50.00: Cochrane/Airdrie/Chestermere/Okotoks
$75.00: Up to Carstairs – High  River – Strathmore – Banff
